Data Reporting Specialist (Information Technology Consultant) - Kansas State University - Global Campus

This position is key to reporting and analytics operations for Kansas State University Global Campus. This position works with each K-State Global Campus unit as well as on-campus liaisons to coordinate data collection, analysis and reporting to create standardized and ad hoc reports. As K-State Global Campus becomes increasingly sophisticated utilizing data in the decision-making process, the person in this position provides a robust response to internal customers with accurate, timely and consistent service to internal teams.

This position is supervised by the Director of Information Systems.

Reporting – 50%

Develop, refine and maintain reporting documentation and document storage and naming conventions.
Maintain the K-State Global Campus reporting calendar for monthly, term and annual reports as well as all accompanying documentation.
Support Summer School and Evening College initiatives by providing requested data and reports.
In conjunction with campus offices, develop queries for internal use by units to increase efficiency.
Conduct all enrollment and admissions reporting for K-State Global Campus.
Develop ad hoc reports in a variety of areas such as class data, program data, transfer students, 2+2 agreements, Olathe online activities, Kansas City area reporting, other geographic requests and other areas as needed.
Further develop and refine the K-State Global Campus reporting Wiki.
Develop, launch and maintain a K-State Global Campus dashboard in Power BI.
Maintain the retention database and all data gathering and collection processes associated with the database.
Support graduate recruitment activities by running admitted not enrolled reports and others as needed.
Support retention activities through running re-enrollment and other reports before and during the term.
Refine RFP grant funding program reporting to support the development of new programs and program financial tracking.
Work with the Academic and Professional Programs unit to provide consolidated reporting for their teams and departments.
Data Collection – 40%

Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison with Planning and Analysis, the Registrar’s office, ISO/data warehouse and on-campus reporting teams to ensure K-State Global Campus’ needs are being represented and we are current on technology advances.
Reconcile K-State Global Campus reports, numbers and metrics to University-wide data. Research, trouble shoot and account for any variances.
Assist with data collection for annual surveys.
Serve as a collection point for surveys such as Military Friendly data requests and U.S. News and World Report.
Support recruitment activities by working with Market Research and Marketing and Communication Services to coordinate enrollment funnel metrics and to further develop and enhance the Program Benchmark tool.
Help develop and maintain strategic enrollment and other applicable metrics that will further the mission of K-State Global Campus.
Global Campus and University Responsibilities – 10%

Participate on project teams as assigned to complete annual goals determined by K-State Global Campus Leadership.
Take part in K-State Global Campus’ annual professional development process.
Professionally represent K-State Global Campus on internal and university-wide committees as assigned.
Required qualifications:

B.S. degree or equivalent experience in computer, data analytics or related field
Experience with MS Excel, reporting and analysis and strong attention to detail
Experience with pivot tables, pivot graphs, as well as data validation and verification of report accuracy
The ability to work independently and to prioritize and meet deadlines
The ability to accurately source data, run queries and request appropriate filters and query/report parameters
The ability to analyze and determine root causes when there are areas of concern in enrollment or retention reports and provide feedback when needed
Strong interpersonal and team work skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and work within timelines to meet deadlines

Travel Expectations:

Must be able to travel in-state and out-of-state on occasion, which usually would consist of visiting other office locations, attending seminars or business meetings.  Minimum travel is 10-25% of the time depending on projects.

The Office of Educational Innovation and Evaluation (OEIE) in Manhattan, KS is seeking a skilled web/database developer to join our team. This position will collaborate with other developers, evaluators, and support staff to enhance our Program Evaluation And Reporting System (PEARS). PEARS is a modern web application used by SNAP-Ed and Extension programs across the country to track and report activities and impact.

This position will primarily work to enhance the reporting and data analysis capabilities of PEARS. Successful applicants should be team players with experience building web applications in a JavaScript and Python environment.

Responsibilities
•Work with a team of developers to support and enhance our nationally used Program Evaluation And Reporting System (PEARS) web application
•Design and code web-based reporting tools for PEARS using Python / Django and modern front-end libraries and frameworks
•Build, test, and deploy new user-friendly and responsive reporting interfaces
•Write code using best practices and current software design patterns
•Fix bugs and work with the development team to plan, build, and test new features
