  • The Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity received accreditation
    for the first time by ABET, the global accreditor of college and
    university programs in applied and natural science, computing,
    engineering and engineering technology.
  • Pavithra Prabhakar was awarded the 2025 Early Career Academic
    Achievement Alumni Award from the University of Illinois Urbana
    Champaign's Siebel School of Computing and Data Science.
  • Pascal Hitzler, University Distinguished Professor and Lloyd T. Smith
    Creativity in Engineering Chair, Dr Abhilekha Dalal, Research Assistant
    Professor, and PhD students Mohammad Mahdavinejad and Sanaz
    Norouzi, announced the publication of their edited volume
    "Handbook on Nuerosymbolic AI and Knowledge Graphs."
  • Lior Shamir, Associate Professor of computer science,
    published results from an observational study in support of a
    century-old theory that directly challenges the validity of the
    Big Bang theory.
  • Pascal Hitzler, Lloyd T. Smith Creativity in Engineering Chair and
    professor of computer science, was ranked No. 8 in the field of semantic
    web and No. 17 in semantics by ScholarGPS among "Highly Ranked
    Scholars."
  • Daniel Andresen, director of Kansas State University's Institute for
    Computational Research in Engineering and Science, Michelle Munson
    Serban Simu keystone research scholar and professor of computer science,
    has been named as K-State's Computer Science Department Head, e ective
    July 7.
